Michael Fadden joined Cerner in 2011 following a 30-year career in family medicine. As a director and chief medical officer in the Physician Alignment Organization (PAO), Michael focuses primarily on creating value for clinicians across the country who use the Cerner CommunityWorks model and general leadership of the Cerner PAO. As the executive sponsor of the Opioid Crisis Resource Center, Michael is dedicated to creating a collaborative atmosphere for Cerner clients to identify and share best practices for managing pain more effectively, utilize opioids more safely and connecting individuals struggling with substance use disorder to treatment more proactively.

Alan Staples is a senior strategist with the Cerner Corporation with 12 years of experience in health care information technology. His professional experience in serving clinicians and care teams in surgical venues, and his background in designing and implementing clinical decision support lend a unique perspective to his work on the opioid crisis. His focus and passion are to help health care provider organizations in their role of preventing patient harm and creating hope for individuals struggling with opioid use disorder.
